How many of us happened to attend eventsand have had to wait several minutes in line for checks at the entrance?
Whether it's for a stadium, an arena, an airport gate, a museum or an exhibition center, installing and operating an automated access gate in a short time is not a child's play.
Thanks to a Leonardo's patented system, these operations can be simplified and speeded up with a foldable and transportable identification and access control module. A set of equipment, designed for the type of checks to be carried out, can be positioned within this module: Video cameras, speakers, monitors, small keyboards or "touch screens", scanners for the recognition of the retina or face, devices for detecting the presence of drugs or explosives, thermal cameras, smart card readers, QR code readers and whatever is needed to speed up the identification process and access to the area to be kept safe.
The patent, which can undoubtedly be useful in protecting the safety and health of people during this difficult period, is part of the intellectual property made available by Leonardo for its Open Covid Pledge initiative: a pledge signed by many companies in the hi-tech sector for sharing the Intellectual Property, with the purpose of counteracting the ongoing pandemic.
