Leonardo - Finmeccanica Cold Gas Micropropulsion in-orbit performances: LISA Pathfinder and Microscope
Abstract
The remarkable features of the Cold Gas Micro-Propulsion Subsystem contributed to the achievement of amazing LISA Pathfinder performances that inspired enthusiastic response from the science community. After LISA PF, Microscope and Euclid, the cold gas micro-propulsion technology is ready to help any other challenging scientific (or formation flying) mission to become a reality. The paper presents a review of the on-ground and in-flight achievements of the Cold Gas Micro Propulsion technology on board of LISA Pathfinder and Microscope and the lessons learned.
