Wireless Power and Data Transfer through Metallic Wall of Bio-Containment Vessels for the Mars Sample Return Mission
In the frame of an ESA programme of planetary exploration aimed to design a storage system for the return of some samples of material from Mars, the development has been carried out of an electronic equipment able to work in a metallic container completely isolated from the external environment by means of wireless interfaces only. In this paper the main features of the power and data wireless transfer interface are described together with the main characteristics of the relevant electronics. The developed breadboard and the latest results achieved are also presented.
