Title
Selex ES hyperspectral airborne system for real-time anomaly detection
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce an airborne hyperspectral system for real-time detection of anomalies and delimitation of spectrally homogeneous areas. The system is composed of: 1) an optical head with two hyperspectral sensors, a panchromatic camera and a GPS/INS instrument, 2) two industrial computers to record data and perform real-time processing, 3) a human-machine interface (HMI) to display the results. The project, started in November 2014, is part of a preliminary study of performance assessment of the processing module developed for the forthcoming Selex ES hyperspectral system named “Sphyder”, to be released in 2016. The processing module implemented by now on the introduced technology demonstrator performs local anomaly detection and spectral segmentation of the collected scene. The overall system has been tested by means of both terrestrial measurements and flight campaigns, showing mechanical and electrical integrity and satisfying processing results.
